IDEC Semi-Hybrid and IDEC Hybrid, these two are upgraded versions of IDEC.
You can think of them as:
l IDEC Semi Hybrid = IDEC+ extra coil (external chilled water/hot water/refrigerant)
l IDEC Hybrid =IDEC + compressor refrigerant system
To suit different client/project requirements.
IDEC Semi-Hybrid
l The extra coil is added to IDEC.
l Multiple existing heat/cool sources can be used for heating or supplemental cooling.
When the indoor humidity is too high, the direct evaporation will be turned off, and the extra coil uses external chilled water/refrigerant as a supplementary cold source, and will not increase the indoor humidity.
When the outdoor humidity is too high, the cooling effect of IDEC is reduced, and the extra coil uses external chilled water/refrigerant as a supplementary cooling source to increase cooling capacity.
IDEC Hybrid
l The compressor refrigerantsystem is added to IDEC.
l Energy saving air conditioner applied in a wider environment.
In dry and semi humid climates, stand-alone IDEC performs very well.
However, in humid climates, the IDEC (Hybrid) cooling units can be complemented by a compressor refrigerant system to achieve the desired comfort conditions.
This hybrid approach results in a great deal of energy saving over a stand-alone compressor-based system and the whole system is controlled by the joint control system.
Working Principle
IDEC Semi-Hybrid
At its heart IDEC Semi Hybrid technology utilizes a two stage evaporative cooling solution, in conjunction with either a chilled water coil for additional cooling or hot water coil for heating. In the first stage, outdoor air is passed through the heat rejector section of the unit, which houses an evaporative cooling system optimized to cool water.
This cooled water is then transferred to a high efficiency heat exchanger within the supply section of the unit, over which the primary supply air is passed, delivering the first stage of cooling with no added moisture – Indirect Evaporative Cooling. The air is further cooled as it passes the second cooling stage – Direct Evaporative Cooling, or the chilled water coil.
IDEC Hybrid
Around the world where evaporative cooling has been limited, hybrid systems incorporate traditional refrigerant or chilled water-cooling coils to work in conjunction with one another and provide hybrid systems without compromise.
Combines two stage evaporative cooling system with an integrated compressor system. Utilizing Hicool’s unique joint control system, continuously adapting cooling strategy to run only the most efficient cooling systems for the ambient condition of the moment. Ensuring consistent performance, high efficiency and significant energy savings.
The operation mode is as follows:
1. Dry / Semi-Dry season: Direct + Indirect evaporation.
2. Humid / Semi-Humid season: Compressor system.
3. In extreme conditions: Direct + Indirect evaporation + compressor system.
